"The victim recalled feeling unwell after consuming the drink prepared by the suspect. He believed he either lost consciousness or became so impaired that he passed out," noted a Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office detective in the arrest warrant, according to Local 10.
The man awoke between 11:00 a.m. and noon, with no recollection of moving from the couch to the bed. The sushi order remained untouched by the slightly open door, leading investigators to deduce that the victim was already unconscious when the delivery arrived.
Security Cameras Provide Key Evidence
Footage from the apartment's security camera played a crucial role in the investigation. The video captured Thompson asking if there were others present, insisting on making the drinks, and repeatedly trying to rouse the unconscious victim with "Hello, hello."

The investigation gained traction when the victim tracked his phone to New York. Upon contacting Spirit Airlines, they confirmed Thompson had boarded flight NK-1441, departing Miami International Airport at 8:02 a.m. on December 11, arriving at LaGuardia Airport.
Through court orders, detectives accessed records from T-Mobile, Spirit Airlines, Coinbase, and Venmo, linking Thompson to the accounts and digital wallets that received the stolen money.
Cassandra Dianne Thompson, aged 34 and also known as Cassandra Costentine, was arrested on Saturday, July 26, at 10:20 p.m. upon arriving at the airport, due to an outstanding Miami-Dade arrest warrant.
