During a session at the National Assembly of People's Power this Wednesday, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz revealed that Cuba's inaugural private currency exchange is set to begin operations as a pilot project. This comes after the establishment of a regulatory framework granting such entities licenses from the Central Bank of Cuba.

In his address to the assembly gathered at the Convention Palace in Havana, Marrero stated, "In connection with currency exchange transformations, the regulatory framework has been approved to authorize private currency exchanges under a license from the Central Bank of Cuba. The first private exchange is ready to start its operations as a pilot project."
