The auction concluded on July 23, surpassing the minimum estimated price set by the auction house, which valued the medal at $12,000 or higher.

The medal, crafted from gold-plated silver, retains its original ribbon in green and gold hues and was sold along with the official wooden case from the Centennial Olympic Games held in Atlanta in 1996.
