On Monday, former U.S. President Donald Trump celebrated the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup, proclaiming it the most secure and spectacular tournament in history, "by a wide margin."

In a statement posted on his Truth Social profile, Trump hailed the World Cup as a "spectacular success" and expressed gratitude to everyone involved in its organization.

Trump particularly highlighted the efforts of the American law enforcement agencies, crediting them with playing a pivotal role in ensuring the championship's security.

"I want to thank everyone involved, especially our great law enforcement forces," Trump stated.

According to Trump, the respect for officers and their "love for our country" facilitated the tournament's status as "the most secure and spectacular World Cup in history, by a wide margin."

Trump also acknowledged the contributions of Andrew Giuliani, the White House coordinator for the World Cup and son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, describing him as "young and dynamic."

He reserved special praise for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, commending him for elevating the competition to a level that few believed possible.

"Few people could ever achieve what he has by taking the World Cup to a level no one thought possible," Trump remarked, extending congratulations to all participants in the organization.

Trump concluded his message with a general congratulation: "Congratulations to all!"

The comments came a day after the final match held at the New York/New Jersey stadium, where Spain emerged victorious against Argentina with a 1-0 win in extra time to claim the title.

Trump joined Infantino in the award ceremony and the presentation of the trophy to the Spanish team.

The 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, was the first to feature 48 teams and 104 matches.
