Specifically priced at $2,299,998.85 per ticket, these seats are located in Block 124, Row 45, seats 33 to 36, positioned right behind a goal at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, as reported by the Associated Press.

However, this exorbitant amount is simply the asking price set by the reseller, and there's no evidence that anyone has actually purchased tickets at this rate.

Resale Market Dynamics

FIFA does not regulate the asking prices set by users on its authorized resale market, though it does levy a 15% commission on both buyers and sellers.

Other tickets have been listed at $575,000 and $595,000 for premium areas, but sales at these prices have not been confirmed.

The FIFA official resale portal also saw high prices. Tickets behind the goal began at over $6,400, upper-level seats hovered around $10,000, and premium options ranged from approximately $16,000 to nearly $60,000, according to the Associated Press.

Earlier in direct sales, FIFA offered front Category 1 seats for $32,970, triple the previous highest price of $10,990 for top-tier seats, as reported by ESPN.

Infantino's Perspective on Pricing

FIFA President Gianni Infantino downplayed the astronomical listings, suggesting that a ticket listed for two million dollars doesn't necessarily cost that much or guarantee a buyer.

He humorously remarked that he would personally deliver a hot dog and a Coke to anyone paying that price, as noted by sports media.

Infantino defended FIFA's pricing policy by contending that if tickets were sold too cheaply, they would end up being resold for much higher prices.
