Cuban Man Among FBI's Most Wanted in Florida for Serious Crimes Against a Minor

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is actively pursuing Alejandro T. Pena Lam, a young Cuban man with ties to Miami, who has been placed on the most wanted list under the "crimes against minors" category. This follows his alleged violation of probation conditions in Florida after being accused of sexual offenses against a 13-year-old girl.

The FBI's Tampa office has released an official wanted poster for 25-year-old Pena Lam, which includes a 2023 photograph, his physical description, and other identifying information. The agency is seeking public assistance to locate him.

Pena Lam has been a fugitive for over two years after unauthorized removal of the electronic ankle monitor he was required to wear under judicial supervision. The federal notice indicates that he has connections in Miami and was last seen in the Kendall area of Miami-Dade County.

According to the FBI, Pena Lam was formally charged in August 2023 before the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division, for allegedly enticing a 13-year-old to produce and send him sexually explicit images online in February of that year.

Following these charges, he was released under the supervision of Probation Services. However, on April 17, 2024, before his trial, Pena Lam illegally removed his ankle monitor and vanished. Consequently, the federal court in Orlando issued a warrant for his arrest the next day for violating probation conditions.

Ever since, he has remained at large. The FBI has labeled him as a "flight risk" and cautions the public against approaching him.

The FBI Most Wanted Facebook page shared the alert this Wednesday, issuing a direct appeal to the public: "We urge anyone with information to come forward to help us find Alejandro T. Pena Lam."

The Tampa, Florida FBI office is managing the case. Anyone with pertinent information can report it anonymously at tips.fbi.gov or by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Pena Lam was born on October 11, 2000, in Cuba and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Authorities describe him as a Hispanic male with brown hair and eyes, standing between 5’3” and 5’5” tall and weighing approximately 134 pounds. He is also known by the names Alejandro Lam-Pena, Alejandro Lam, and Alejandro Pena.

The case of Pena Lam arises amid escalating concerns over the online exploitation of minors. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported 1.4 million cases of online enticement in 2025, marking a 158% increase from the previous year.

This isn't the first instance of Cuban residents in South Florida making it onto the FBI's most wanted lists. In 2023, the case of three Cuban brothers, who are among the top 20 most wanted criminals in Miami for a $119 million Medicare fraud scheme, resurfaced.

The U.S. is on the lookout for Carlos, José, and Luis Benítez for their involvement in a massive plan to defraud the federal medical coverage program. They have evaded justice since 2008.

In June of this year, a woman originally from Jamaica and residing in South Florida was added to the FBI's list of most wanted scammers for a $34 million pandemic relief fund fraud.
