Cuban singer Yulién Oviedo was unexpectedly among the first contestants to be eliminated from the reality show 'La Prisión de Destino', just three days after the competition began. This revelation was made public during an interview with the show's host, Fernan Show, shortly after Oviedo's departure.
Alongside Oviedo, fellow contestant Ely Labella also exited the show during a Thursday event, merely 72 hours into the program that kicked off on June 8.
The ousting decision was made by Puerto Rican participants Diorela and El Gringo, whom Oviedo did not hesitate to describe as "the two furniture pieces from San Juan."
"They chose to eliminate the strongest, the most charismatic; that's how the competition works," remarked the Cuban artist when asked about his early exit.
Oviedo suggested that his presence in the reality show was perceived as a threat by the other contestants: "Yes, absolutely, but I'm a danger inside that prison, to them," he added with a hint of sarcasm.
The singer acknowledged that participating in such a format was a completely novel experience for him: "This was something entirely new for me, but well, now it's all over."
In his final words to the audience, Oviedo stressed that his main focus remains his music career: "Blessings, lots of music, I am an artist, a musician, you know."
Oviedo's elimination came just weeks after he publicly reconciled with several colleagues from the Cuban urban music scene. On May 26, he issued public apologies to Bebeshito, El Chacal, and Chocolate MC before joining the reality show, stating: "Bebeshiito, we're good, Chacal, we're good."
'La Prisión de Destino' is a reality show broadcast 24/7 on YouTube from Miami, featuring over 20 participants from countries like Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, and other Latin American nations. The show is set to continue until July 19.
With Yulién no longer in the mix, the competition presses on with the remaining contestants. His early departure has already sparked discussions among fans about the alliance dynamics that will unfold in the upcoming weeks of the show.
