Ozunaje Delights Fans with A Cappella Preview of New Song "How Tough It Is"

Tuesday, May 19, 2026 by Isabella Rojas

The Cuban singer Ozunaje delighted her followers on Monday by sharing a 44-second video on Instagram, recorded inside a studio, where she performs an a cappella rendition of what appears to be a new, unreleased romantic track.

In the video, the Cuban artist can be heard singing: "It's been a while since I've heard from you, lost your number, how lovely, but let's see this and tell me if you're happy, tell me about both, I can't stop missing you, and if I keep going through your son, but I'm not the same, you're the one who was abandoned and forgotten."

The lyrics suggest a song about a past relationship, aligning with the Cuban urban genre's trend of incorporating more emotional and sentimental themes alongside the traditional party and street motifs.

Alongside the video, Ozunaje left a message hinting at more to come: "This is my year, and I'm going all out... Only God and I know everything that's coming, Ozunaje in the house."

The artist, whose real name is Aliaisys Álvarez Hernández, has made a name for herself as one of the emerging female voices in Cuba's urban genre, a style that blends reggaeton with local rhythms and everyday themes.

Her most successful collaboration to date is "Lleno de odio," with Velito el Bufón and Fernando Produce, which went viral on social media with millions of views on YouTube and was featured in Spotify's "Cuban Urban Top Releases 2025" playlist.

Her discography also includes tracks like "Tenías," "Prendío," "Quieto," and "Cosas del amor," the latter featuring Talent Fuego and Michel Boutic.

Ozunaje is also an LGBTQ+ public figure in a genre historically dominated by men, blending her musical growth with personal moments shared alongside her girlfriend Oliva Ferrer, with whom she answered 25 intimate questions about their relationship in March of this year.

On April 28, she also dedicated a romantic declaration of love to Ferrer, accompanied by affectionate photos.

If the snippet released on Monday is any indication of what's to come, 2026 promises to be a year filled with music for Ozunaje, who has clearly stated that several projects are underway.
