José Daniel Ferrer García, the leader of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), took to Facebook on Friday to call out the Cuban regime's blatant hypocrisy.

Ferrer pointed out the contradiction of the Cuban government, which falsely labels peaceful dissidents as "CIA agents" to imprison or exile them, while simultaneously hosting the CIA's director in Havana.

This statement from Ferrer came in response to CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s visit to Cuba, where he led a U.S. presidential delegation that landed at José Martí International Airport on Thursday. This meeting marked one of the highest-level interactions between Washington and the Cuban regime in several decades.

Highlighting Hypocrisy Through Exile

Ferrer, who has been living in Miami since October 2025, began his message by referencing Sissi Abascal, a member of the Ladies in White, who was recently released and relocated to Miami under duress, having been forced to choose between exile or continued imprisonment.

“Sissi Abascal was pushed into exile by tyranny. Exile or a hellish prison. We, the peaceful pro-democracy opposition, are imprisoned and expelled from our homeland, falsely accused of being CIA agents... while the CIA Director goes to Cuba and meets with the 'farm pigs,'” Ferrer wrote.

A Message for Díaz-Canel

Ferrer referred to the regime officials who met with Ratcliffe, such as Interior Minister Lázaro Álvarez Casas—sanctioned under the Global Magnitsky Act—and Brigadier General Ramón Romero Curbelo, head of the MININT Intelligence Directorate, as "farm pigs."

He also directed a specific message to Miguel Díaz-Canel, who was absent from the meeting: “Well, Pig Díaz-Canel wasn’t there. He still hasn’t realized he’ll be the pig for roasting.”

The regime itself confirmed the meeting through an official Communist Party statement, noting that it was the United States who requested the dialogue.

U.S. Stance and Further Criticisms

The CIA director brought a message from Trump to Havana: the U.S. is open to discussions, but only if the regime implements "fundamental changes."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio was more direct in his comments to Fox News. “Cuba has a broken, non-functional economy that cannot be changed. I don’t believe we can alter Cuba’s trajectory as long as these people are in charge.”

In another post on Friday, Ferrer asserted that the U.S. possesses “all the moral, legal, military, economic, and political power” to end the Cuban regime, making direct reference to the news that the Justice Department aims to criminally charge Raúl Castro for the downing of two Brothers to the Rescue planes on February 24, 1996.

Ferrer’s denunciation is part of an ongoing international campaign he has been leading since early May.

On May 5, he addressed the European Parliament in Brussels, condemning what he called "the worst crisis in modern Cuban history." On May 11, speaking from Warsaw, he declared that the regime "will not survive the year."
