A man was taken into custody at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in Doral, Florida, after causing a disturbance at a security checkpoint and making physical contact with a Secret Service agent, as confirmed by the federal agency in an official statement.
The incident unfolded this past Saturday around 4:15 p.m., when the individual approached a security checkpoint manned by federal agents and Doral Police officers.
Authorities reported that the man refused to comply with orders and escalated the confrontation to the point of physically assaulting a Secret Service member.
"During this incident, the individual was disruptive and defied lawful commands. He then engaged in physical contact with a Secret Service member and was subsequently detained without further incidents," stated Michael Townsend, the interim special agent in charge of the Secret Service's Miami office.
The Doral Police charged the suspect with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence.
The arrested man was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.
A video captured at the scene shows the man being handcuffed; in the audio, a witness can be heard commenting that the arrested individual "is getting a good one."
