The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking public assistance in the case of Alejandro Jacomino González, a 41-year-old Cuban truck driver who vanished under mysterious circumstances on April 17.

On April 24, the FBI's Tampa division released a public alert asking for help in locating the driver, who is suspected to have been kidnapped.

Jacomino González, who holds a commercial driver's license (CDL) and works for a transport company, was tasked with hauling vehicles from the port of Brunswick, Georgia, to Miami. His last known whereabouts were at a rest area on I-95 in Brevard County, Florida, on April 17.

Born on February 8, 1985, in Cuba, and currently residing in the United States, González is described as a Hispanic male, standing 5'11" tall, weighing 200 pounds, bald with brown beard and mustache, and brown eyes. He has a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm, another on the lower right arm, and the name "Elisia" inked on his right forearm. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, according to the official statement.

Timeline of Events Leading to Disappearance

Investigators have pieced together that on April 16, Jacomino González picked up several vehicles in Brunswick, Georgia, destined for Miami.

At 1:21 AM the next day, he arrived at the Brevard County rest area on I-95 South in Grant-Valkaria, where he paused for several hours. At 7:49 AM, the truck's GPS indicated movement southward to an exit, then a turn northbound towards Jacksonville.

"Shortly after, González ceased all communications and the truck was reported missing," the FBI stated.

Later that day, authorities discovered the truck in Port Wentworth, Georgia, but González was not inside, and several of the transported vehicles were missing.

Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal

"Since the truck's discovery, three vehicles have been found in Florida. Others remain unaccounted for, along with González," added the official communication.

The FBI has classified the event as a "car carrier hijacking in Brevard County" and is treating it as a suspicious disappearance potentially involving unlawful detainment.

The agency urges individuals to share any photos or videos captured at the Brevard County rest area in Grant-Valkaria between 1:00 AM and 8:00 AM on April 17, particularly near the south side close to the I-95 South entrance ramp.

Anyone with information can call the toll-free number 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or submit anonymous tips via the FBI's online portal.

This case echoes the disappearance of another Cuban trucker, Alexis Sánchez Azcuy, aged 48, from Miami, who went missing on March 13, 2022, in Texas while on a long-haul cargo route.

Sánchez Azcuy's truck was found abandoned with traces of blood in Winkler County, Texas, prompting an investigation that also involved the FBI. Months later, his murder was confirmed.
