In a short video, Gattorno showcased the incoming aid and publicly thanked those who have backed the initiative. "More help for Julito. Here we are receiving the items. Thanks to my follower Luis," he said while displaying the donated goods.
During the same footage, Julito confirmed that he is now adhering to his medication regimen. Gattorno inquired, "Are we taking the medication?" to which Julito replied, "Yes, we're taking it now."
Gattorno emphasized that the patient still "needs food and medication" and urged him to "stay disciplined to get through this like steel."

Gattorno also responded to inquiries about the allocation of the collected funds. He shared the phone number of Julito's brother to allow any donor to confirm that the money reached its intended destination and warned that he might step back from the initiative if the pressure persists.
"I did this to help. It's turning into a personal responsibility, and I might withdraw," he specified.

The situation came to light when Gattorno posted about his neighbor's plight on Facebook. Julito had spent 20 days hospitalized due to a setback related to his HIV condition and upon returning home, discovered that his partner had sold all his possessions.
The community's response was swift. Local residents donated essential items, and Cubans abroad sent monetary assistance. Shortly after, Julito publicly expressed his gratitude, stating, "I am very thankful for the help I am receiving. Thank you very much."
