Cuban influencer La Mariposa recently experienced one of the most terrifying moments of her life during a family outing in Miami. A dog, both unleashed and unmuzzled, suddenly attacked her group, endangering her one-year-old son, her little dog Vakita, and her own mother.
"Today I lived through one of the scariest moments of my life... And I wouldn't wish it on any mother," shared the influencer, whose real name is Marllenys Reigada Ferrer.
What started as a peaceful family gathering swiftly turned into a nightmare. "I truly felt how the lives of my son, my little dog, my family, and my own... were hanging by a thread," she recounted.
Amidst the chaos, her mother acted instinctively by positioning herself as a human shield between the aggressive dog and the baby. Meanwhile, La Mariposa clung tightly to Vakita, her three-pound Pomeranian. "That dog could have eaten her in one bite," she explained, adding that she let the attack fall on herself instead.
The aftermath left her with a scratched and wounded back. "Today my back is hurt, all scratched up, but it could have been so much worse," she admitted, thankful there weren't more severe consequences.
In a video, the Cuban influencer and entrepreneur revealed that she reported the incident to authorities. She also used the moment to make a public appeal: "Not using a leash. Not using a muzzle. Not respecting the laws... IS NOT LOVE, IT'S NEGLIGENCE."
Her followers responded with a flood of support and empathy. "OMG, I'm so scared, that's why I'm terrified to go out alone with my dogs," commented one follower. Another, who delivers packages, shared: "My worst scares have been with dogs." A third expressed outrage: "This is no joke, people... No dog should be running loose."
La Mariposa concluded her post with a poignant reminder: "Today could have been a tragedy. Today it was my child and my family; tomorrow it could be yours."
