In the early hours of the morning, a tragic incident in northwest Miami-Dade led to a second crash that left a sheriff's deputy injured and a driver under arrest, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO).

The chain of events began just before midnight at 11:55 p.m. on Friday when a civilian vehicle collided with a tree at the intersection of NW 135th Street and NW 57th Avenue in the county's northwest region. The car immediately caught fire upon impact.

Fire Rescue units from Miami-Dade responded swiftly to the scene, extinguishing the flames. Unfortunately, they discovered the driver, a man whose age and identity remain undisclosed, had died at the scene.

As MDSO officers were setting up roadblocks to investigate the fatal crash, a second incident unfolded around 2:44 a.m. on Saturday, nearly three hours after the initial collision.

A sheriff's patrol vehicle was stationed to block a nearby intersection at NW 135th Street and NW 47th Avenue, roughly ten blocks away from the first crash site. Suddenly, another vehicle barreled through the crossing and struck the right side of the police unit. These types of incidents bring to mind past events, such as when a Dodge Charger was captured on video crashing into a patrol car.

The driver who collided with the patrol car was apprehended on the spot. This incident shares similarities with the case of Yasmani Jaime Ulloa, 32, who was arrested after a similar occurrence in Miami. Additionally, another crash in Opa-locka recently resulted in injuries under comparable circumstances.
