A Cuban resident has reported an alleged robbery attempt in the city of Cárdenas, Matanzas, sparking outrage on social media and reinforcing concerns about the rising crime rate in Cuba.

Jorge Luis Rivero González, a Facebook user, shared images of the incident, explaining that the attempted break-in occurred at the corner of Mercedes and 9th Avenue during the early hours of March 18.

According to his account, a young man climbed up to a private residence with the apparent intention of entering the property, where a pregnant woman was sleeping alone.

Although the individual did not succeed in carrying out the robbery, he was caught on video, allowing his face to be widely circulated on social media. The person who reported the incident has called for assistance in identifying the man and bringing the case to the attention of the authorities.

"I hope this reaches the appropriate authorities," Rivero wrote, condemning the act and warning the community about such incidents.
