A collision involving two passenger buses resulted in injuries to 11 individuals in the municipality of Cauto Cristo, located in Cuba's Granma province.

As reported by Radio Bayamo, the buses, both rented for passenger transport, collided head-on near the community of La Seis, prompting a swift response from emergency services in the area.

The injured were initially taken to the Joel Benítez Borges municipal polyclinic, where it was confirmed that all suffered from multiple contusions.

Following this, they were transferred to the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Hospital in Bayamo for more specialized medical care.

Among those injured was an infant, an 11-month-old baby, who was moved to the Bayamo children's hospital without apparent complications.

Health officials noted that, as of the latest update, none of the patients have life-threatening injuries, though they remain under medical observation to assess the severity of each case.

This incident highlights the ongoing transportation risks on the island, where the deteriorating vehicle fleet and poor road conditions frequently contribute to such accidents.

The Cuban News Agency reported that the provincial health director, Leidy Saray Rodríguez Hernández, indicated that 16 of those injured required transfer to hospital facilities for specialized care.
