Thursday, March 19, 2026 by Abigail Marquez

The Cuban content creator Amesito Te Quema (@amesito.tequema) has shared a comedic video that highlights, through irony, one of the most common realities in Cuba: blackouts.

The video was filmed on Línea Street in El Vedado. As he walks, the young man humorously predicts, "Can you imagine if the power goes out right now?"

Immediately after, he counts to three... and just as he finishes, a blackout occurs throughout the area. The scene concludes with the phrase: "POV: You're a psychic in Cuba."

POV stands for "Point of View." The video has garnered thousands of reactions and comments, many from users who resonate with the young Cuban's prediction.

"No matter what time you're reading this, if you're in Cuba, you won't have power. Sincerely, the psychic of the Electric Union (UNE)," wrote one follower.

Another commented that the blackout in their home coincided precisely with the count. "I was watching the video, and when you got to 3, the power went out in my house."

Humor continues to be an escape from the energy crisis plaguing millions of Cubans.
