Renowned Cuban musician Cándido Fabré has once again stirred up reactions on social media with his proposal of a bridge connecting Miami and Havana, symbolizing unity among Cubans both on and off the island.

In a lengthy message shared on Facebook, presented in a poetic and improvised song-like manner, Fabré emphasizes the need for reconciliation and closer ties between the Cuban diaspora and those remaining in Cuba.

"When they finish the bridge from Miami to Havana, there will be a carnival, my people, in the Cuban capital," he wrote.

Fabré openly encouraged Cubans abroad to return home without fear.

"Cuban, I’m waiting for you, there’s no fear, don’t hesitate. Whoever wants to come, let them come to Martí’s land," he expressed.

The musician also stressed the importance of moving beyond divisions.

"Build the bridge big enough to unite Cubans... leave hatred at the shore," he remarked.

In his message, rich with poetic and musical undertones, Fabré described this hypothetical bridge as a pathway for free passage between both sides of the Florida Strait.

"I dream of that journey, to be able to come and go, bring love in your luggage," he added.

Fabré's words come amid political and social tensions, alongside a growing migration of Cubans to the United States, which has deepened the rift between families across the sea.

His post has sparked various responses, with some supporting the call for unity, while others question the artist's perspective on the country’s reality.

Cándido Fabré has been a longstanding advocate of the Cuban Revolution, both in his music and public appearances.

The popular artist has consistently aligned with the official discourse, participating in institutional events and frequently expressing his support for the island’s political system, cementing his status as a figure aligned with the government’s cultural narrative.
