On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a stern warning to Iran amidst the escalating military tensions in the Middle East: the window for dialogue has closed, according to Washington.
In a brief post on his platform, Truth Social, Trump asserted that Tehran sought to open negotiations after the attacks that began on Saturday, but maintained that Iran's military capabilities have been severely compromised.
"Their air defense, Air Force, Navy, and leadership are no longer existent. They want to talk. I said, 'Too late!'" he wrote.
This statement was issued alongside the sharing of an opinion piece in support of the offensive published by The Washington Post, further cementing his stance that the joint operation with Israel has critically weakened the Islamic Republic.
Unlimited U.S. Military Might
Earlier, also on Truth Social, Trump had praised the strength of U.S. military forces and the nation’s weapon supply capabilities in the context of the conflict.
"America's stockpile of mid-to-high-range munitions has never been so vast or effective. I've been informed we practically have an unlimited supply of these weapons," he declared.
He added, "Wars can be fought indefinitely, and successfully, using just these supplies (which are superior to the finest weapons of other nations!)."
However, he noted that the highest-level stockpiles aren’t yet at his desired level, blaming his predecessor, Joe Biden, for sending arms to Ukraine without restocking.
"Sleepy Joe wasted all his time, and our country's money, giving everything to Zelensky of Ukraine worth hundreds of billions of dollars [...] And while he fixed much of the high-grade weapons (for free), he didn’t bother to replace them," he criticized.
Trump claimed to have "rebuilt" the military during his first term, asserting that the United States is now "well-supplied and ready to win, big."
Operation "Epic Fury" Yet to Fully Unleash
In previous remarks, Trump warned that the operation—dubbed "Epic Fury"—might intensify in the coming days. "We haven't even started hitting them hard. The big surge hasn't happened yet. The big is coming soon," he stated.
According to Trump, the military campaign could extend beyond the four or five weeks initially projected. "I always thought it would last four weeks. Now we're slightly ahead of schedule, but we have the capacity to go far beyond that," he noted.
He also claimed that Iran’s command chain is disjointed following targeted strikes. "They themselves don't know who's leading them now. We took out 49 of their leaders. We don't know who's in charge," he declared.
The joint operation with Israel reportedly led to the death of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with hundreds of others, according to reports in the conflict’s context.
Iran's Response and Regional Tensions
From Tehran, Iran's Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Lariyani, denied any intention to negotiate and refuted claims of preparing attacks against the United States. He also questioned the justification of the U.S. offensive as a "preventive" move.
Meanwhile, Iran has retaliated with airstrikes against Israel and other regional countries hosting U.S. military bases, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
At least six U.S. soldiers have died since the operation began, forcing Washington to close its embassies in Kuwait and temporarily in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the U.S. government has urged its citizens to leave 14 Middle Eastern countries, including Israel, Lebanon, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and Yemen.
Despite the mounting international pressure and the risk of a broader regional conflict, Trump insists that the offensive will persist until Iran’s missile program, Navy, and nuclear capabilities are completely dismantled. According to his message, if Tehran seeks talks now, Washington considers it "too late."
