The Cuban leadership has remained silent regarding the ongoing discussions between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Raúl Guillermo Rodríguez Castro, the grandson of Raúl Castro, also known as “El Cangrejo.”

While various international sources confirm the initiation of talks concerning Cuba's transition, the Cuban government's official channels have opted to remain silent.

Recently, the Presidency has focused on other matters, such as Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez's visit to Russia, institutional health messages, and the implementation of photovoltaic solar systems to address the energy crisis. However, they have not addressed the issue that is capturing the attention of many Cubans.

On Wednesday, Pedro Jorge Velázquez, a communicator known as “El Necio” who aligns with the official discourse, called for an “urgent clarification” from Cuban authorities regarding this sensitive issue.

El Necio warned the regime that, regardless of the dialogue's content, maintaining institutional silence could lead to sensitive political interpretations. Nevertheless, the Cuban Presidency ignored his remarks.

As news of the negotiations between Cuba and the United States spreads, anticipation is growing among the Cuban populace. The regime's silence leaves room for numerous interpretations, with social media discussions becoming increasingly vibrant.

Many comments suggest there is "fear among the upper echelons of the Cuban government," "division within the political ranks of the Communist Party of Cuba," and claim that "Miguel Díaz-Canel has always been a puppet of Raúl Castro."
