The government in Holguín is set to introduce temporary special permits for electric tricycles and motorbikes. This initiative aims to enhance the transportation of goods and passengers during the current exceptional circumstances facing both the province and the entire country.

Announcing the measure, René Rodríguez Morales, the local representative of the Minister of Transportation, detailed on Facebook that an official survey and registry of authorized vehicles will be conducted. This will include information about the owner, registration or invoice, driving license, and up-to-date technical inspection.

Vehicles must possess an updated certification from the ERTA Technical Review.

In the main municipality, this process will be carried out at the ERTA Somaton; in Moa, at the mobile technical inspection unit; and in other municipalities, it will occur through the inspection committee of the Provincial Transport Company.

Individuals must comply with the regulations set forth in Law 109, which is the Road and Traffic Code, ensuring they have the proper licenses for their specific type of vehicle.

For tricycles without registration, owners can apply for an operational license as long as they meet the prescribed requirements.

The authorized vehicles will be organized into ranks under the control of the Provincial Transport Company.

A fee structure is being proposed to the Provincial Directorate of Finance and Prices for approval, with charges supported by official invoices and receipts.

The authorization will be signed by the director or head of the Municipal Transport Department, as part of efforts to mitigate the current constraints in transportation services.
