From a Small Town in Cuba to Entrepreneurial Success in Spain: The Journey of a Cuban Woman Who Started with 100 Euros and Now Leads Her Own Firm

Leaving Cuba is never an easy feat, especially when you embark on the journey with just 100 euros, a suitcase full of dreams, and an uncertain future ahead. Yet, there are remarkable stories that show how one's beginnings don't necessarily dictate their destiny. The story of Netdayris Cruz González is among them, and her podcast on YouTube serves as a source of inspiration for many Cubans.

Raised in Cuatro Caminos, a rural village in Bejucal, within the province of Mayabeque, Netdayris grew up in a modest environment where, as she describes it, "hard work wasn't just a motivational phrase but a daily reality."

"Growing up in a small town teaches you that effort is non-negotiable and that dignity comes from how you conduct yourself, not from what you own," she asserts. This understanding led her to realize early on that expanding her opportunities meant stepping out of her comfort zone.

Upon her arrival in Spain, she was filled with aspirations but also apprehension. "I arrived with 100 euros and a month ahead that I didn't know how it would unfold. I had dreams, but also fear and uncertainty. The exhaustion from the journey was significant, but my determination to move forward was even stronger. I didn’t cross an ocean to give up."

The Spark of Necessity: Finding Her True Calling

Her initial focus was to regularize her immigration status and establish job stability. During this phase, she encountered the complexities of the system. "I discovered how intricate the immigration system can be when you lack guidance and resources," she explains.

Unable to afford professional advice, she took it upon herself to study immigration law. "I read laws, analyzed procedures, and researched every detail. It was a necessity to understand my own rights, but unknowingly, I was crafting a new vocation."

Her passion for immigration law, she claims, didn't emerge in a classroom. "It was born out of urgency, out of a desire to understand and not remain ignorant. I wanted control over my own process."

Already a graduate in Accounting and Finance from Cuba, she had always believed in the transformative power of education. "I've always seen education as a tool for real transformation." Determined to formalize her vocation, she pursued a Master's in International Mobility, Migration, and Visas, along with an MBA and a Master's in Project Management at Isabel I International University. "I wasn't looking to collect degrees; I sought structure, strategy, and solid knowledge to excel."

The journey included challenging jobs and tough phases that reinforced her resolve. "There were moments of doubt and fatigue, but every experience confirmed that I hadn't left a small town in Mayabeque to stop halfway."

From Immigrant to Businesswoman

With time, she realized her experience could serve other migrants. "My story wasn't just mine. It mirrored the experiences of many who arrive in a new country with dreams, but also fear and misinformation. I decided to transform my journey into a service."

This led to the creation of NETCG & ASOCIADOS, a professional firm focused on International Mobility, Accounting, Taxation, and legal matters, driven by a clear principle: integrity. "I work from technical knowledge but also from empathy, because I know what it's like to be on the other side of the process, feeling uncertain."

She later expanded her vision with the founding of NETCG SOLUTIONS SL, specializing in software development, Artificial Intelligence, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity. "For me, law and technology aren't separate paths; both are tools to generate solutions, efficiency, and opportunities in a globalized world."

Her story, she emphasizes, didn't start with success as many might assume: "It begins with necessity. It starts in a rural village. It starts with 100 euros and many questions. But it also begins with a firm decision: to not give up and to turn every challenge into a lesson."

Today, she continues to build with the same discipline that brought her to Spain. And she leaves a clear message for other Cubans starting from scratch: "I deeply believe that your origin doesn't determine your destiny. What truly does is the determination with which you choose to face it."
