David Espinosa, a Cuban Christian, has publicly criticized the state-run television show “Con Filo” for what he describes as blatant manipulation. Espinosa claims the program featured him and other believers on national television in a misleading attempt to associate them with certain political views they do not hold.

On Facebook, Espinosa recounted how the show aired a segment of a video by non-Christian content creators, followed by an image from journalist Yoe Suárez about young evangelicals who have voiced criticisms of the regime. Espinosa argues that the program's aim was to falsely link these content creators with the evangelical community, branding it as a crude form of manipulation.

Espinosa expressed surprise at being associated with discussions about the embargo, especially since he had been experiencing internet connectivity issues for over a week due to ETECSA's service problems at his home.

Following the broadcast, he received numerous messages informing him of his mention on the show—some offering support, others cautioning him.

Espinosa highlighted that he has increased his activity on social media alongside his usual Christian ministry, asserting his right to speak out about the country's situation. He emphasized that preaching the gospel is not at odds with addressing perceived injustices.

In his message, he referenced several biblical passages concerning persecution and declared his intention to remain steadfast in his faith, even if more challenging times arise. He warned that censorship or pressure on spaces linked to evangelical communities might escalate.

He vowed to counter any attempts to discredit him with his testimony and his work, confident that, as he quoted, “by their fruits you will know them.”
