Cubamax Travel and Supermarket 23, agencies specializing in sending packages from the United States to Cuba, have announced a temporary reduction in their services. This decision stems from the acute fuel shortage plaguing the island, which is directly affecting distribution efforts.

In an official statement released on Facebook, Cubamax highlighted that the fuel scarcity in Cuba has led to considerable delays in services that rely on distribution and delivery, complicating the process of getting packages to their final destinations.

"Due to the current and severe fuel shortage in Cuba, all services requiring distribution and delivery are experiencing significant delays," the statement noted.

Supermarket 23 reported a similar situation, stating that for logistical reasons, until further notice, the store will only accept orders destined for Havana and the Isle of Youth. Other provinces will not be serviced until the situation improves.

Temporary Measures Implemented

In response to the situation, Cubamax announced several measures aimed at prioritizing critical needs and maintaining service continuity under current limitations:

  • Shipments will be limited to essential supplies, food, and medicines only.
  • Only one shipment per customer will be accepted.
  • Services will be offered exclusively to existing customers.
  • Home delivery services are temporarily suspended, with pickup available at 329 designated points across the country.

The company also warned that deliveries already received will continue to face distribution delays, directly tied to fuel availability.

"A Critical Situation Beyond Our Control"

Cubamax described the scenario as "critical and entirely beyond our control," affirming their ongoing efforts to responsibly seek alternatives that allow operations to continue within the challenging context.

The agency emphasized the significance of each package to Cuban families, often sent as humanitarian aid.

"We understand these are not just shipments; they are humanitarian aid sent to your families with great love and sacrifice," expressed the company.

Cubamax indicated that if the fuel availability in Cuba does not improve in the coming weeks, additional measures may be necessary until minimal conditions exist to ensure a responsible and quality service.

The company expressed gratitude for the understanding, patience, and trust of its clients, reaffirming its commitment to keeping Cuban families connected despite the current challenges.
