The diplomatic mission shared a video on social media platform X, featuring footage from the Santiago port. In the video, Chargé d'Affaires Mike Hammer elaborated that the shipment is part of the assistance initiated by the Trump Administration to help those hardest hit by the natural disaster.
"Hello, here at the Santiago port, where a vessel loaded with more humanitarian aid from the Trump administration is about to arrive," Hammer stated in the video.
Additionally, the diplomat mentioned that he has been touring the eastern region of Cuba to ensure the aid reaches the individuals who need it the most.
"I have been visiting the region to verify if the assistance is directly reaching the people and to explore if we can continue sending support to alleviate suffering and improve the living conditions of the citizens," he added.
In its post, the Embassy emphasized that Washington will persist in sending aid "as long as it directly reaches the people," accompanying the statement with the hashtag #ConCubaNoSePidePie.
