Carlos Giménez Issues Stern Warning to Cuban Regime, Calls for Public Uprising
Description not available

Cuban-American Congressman Carlos Giménez issued a strong warning to the Cuban regime on Monday, cautioning that any crackdown on potential new protests in the country will not go unchallenged under President Donald Trump's leadership.

“#SOSCuba President Trump will not tolerate the regime's repression in #Cuba like the pathetic Biden administration did in 2021," he declared.

“Another dawn will rise when our brothers on the island take to the streets as they did on that historic July 11th. Patria y Vida!” he added.

Giménez has directly encouraged the Cuban people to mobilize as they did during the July 11th, 2021 uprising.

His statements blend a call to action with the promise of steadfast support from the United States, contrasting with what he perceives as the Biden administration's inaction during the momentous protests.

Campaign to Halt Commercial Flights: “We Cannot Legitimize the Dictatorship”

Earlier in February, Giménez also took a firm stance against commercial air operations between the United States and Cuba, arguing that they pose a direct threat to national security.

In letters sent to the CEOs of airlines such as American Airlines and Delta, the congressman urged the cancellation of flights to and from the island.

He explained that such operations “economically sustain a dictatorship allied with adversaries of the United States.”

In his letter, Giménez referenced an executive order issued by Donald Trump declaring a national emergency due to the “unusual and extraordinary threat” posed by the Cuban regime.

The congressman warned that allowing commercial flights with the island not only provides the regime with hard currency but also contradicts decades of bipartisan U.S. policy in support of the Cuban people.

“It’s Time to Choke the Regime”: Economic and Diplomatic Offensive

In remarks to Fox News, Giménez expanded on his support for Donald Trump’s policies against the allies of the Cuban regime.

He praised, among other measures, the new 100% tariffs on countries exporting oil to the island—such as Mexico and Venezuela—and called for increased pressure until the Cuban government is on the brink of collapse.

Using aggressive rhetoric, Giménez insisted that Cuba requires a “shock treatment” leading to a systemic change.

According to the congressman, the political moment is ripe: he claims the regime is at its weakest point since 1959, lacking solid economic backing and facing a growing loss of international legitimacy.

Born in Havana and serving as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, Giménez has repeatedly emphasized that his priority is to protect U.S. national security and support the Cuban people in their fight against authoritarianism. His vision for the island’s future is clear:

“After more than six decades of oppression, the end of the Castro regime is closer than ever.”
