Cuban Woman Shares Why She Chose to Leave the U.S. for Mexico: "You Only Live Once"

A Cuban woman, now living in Mexico, has gained viral attention on TikTok for sharing her reasons for leaving the United States after residing there for four years.

In a video posted by user @cubanita.en.mexic, she addresses a common question from her followers: why she opted to leave the U.S., often seen as "the land of opportunity."

"Friend, why did you leave the United States if life is better there?" the Cuban woman reads at the start of the video. Her heartfelt answer has resonated with thousands of viewers:

"It's true that life in the U.S. is better in the sense that the dollar holds value everywhere, but, darling, you have to earn it, you have to work hard and give it your all, just like anywhere else."

She candidly explained that despite having material comforts, she felt a profound emptiness:

"I spent four years in the United States away from my family. I had all the material comforts one could have, and, my dear, it's as if I had none of it because I didn't enjoy it. I worked so much and was not with my children."

With a reflective tone, she emphasized that her decision was driven not by financial factors but by emotional ones:

"Material things aren't everything. Even if it's under a bridge, I prefer to be with my daughters because you only live once. Today we're here, tomorrow we might not be, and we won't take anything with us but our experiences and happiness."
