The head of the U.S. Embassy in Cuba, Mike Hammer, shared a video of his meeting with Father José Conrado Rodríguez in the city of Trinidad, located in the Sancti Spíritus province.
"I had the pleasure of meeting with Father Conrado once again in Trinidad. He inspires me every time we speak," Hammer expressed through the official embassy account.
Hammer recounted that, upon leaving the parish that day, he was subjected to verbal abuse by a small group of pro-regime individuals.
"Some communists, likely frustrated with the failing revolution, hurled obscenities at me; aren’t they the ones who always demand respect?" Hammer remarked.
This incident was related to an act of repudiation that took place on Saturday in Trinidad. However, the regime orchestrated a second repudiation act later that evening when Hammer arrived in Camagüey.
