Cuban Activists Confront Aleida Guevara in Seville: "Your Father Was a Murderer and Racist"

Saturday, January 31, 2026 by Oscar Guevara

On Friday, Cuban activists confronted Aleida Guevara March, daughter of Che Guevara and a prominent supporter of the Cuban regime, in Seville following her participation in the 4th International Meeting Europe for Cuba.

This gathering was organized by pro-Castro associations and European leftist intellectuals.

Activists Avana de la Torre and Brayan Infante, known for their outspoken criticism of the Cuban dictatorship, awaited Guevara near the cultural center hosting the event. They demanded an end to the dictatorship and the release of political prisoners in Cuba.

Videos circulating on social media capture the moment these opponents challenged the daughter of the Argentine guerrilla leader for the crimes and abuses committed during the early years of the Cuban revolution.

"Have you mentioned that your father was a murderer, that he set up concentration camps for homosexuals and executed thousands of Cubans?" questioned Infante, creator of the YouTube channel Un asere pensante.

Guevara, taken aback, managed only a brief denial, "that's not true," while event supporters attempted to disrupt the exchange.

The confrontation escalated when De la Torre retorted, "That also needs to be said," provoking an angry reaction from several attendees.

The activists later criticized the limited Cuban participation in the event, noting the predominance of European groups and delegations connected to Chavismo and Spain's Communist Party.

Aleida Guevara, a retired pediatrician and frequent face of official propaganda, has spent recent years promoting the Havana regime's narrative at international forums.

The daughter of the so-called "Heroic Commander" has built a public career on her father's legendary image, enjoying privileges and foreign travel that starkly contrast with the hardships faced by the Cuban people.

During her remarks at the meeting, Guevara condemned the "imperialist blockade" by the United States and praised the "resistance" of Cuba and Venezuela, receiving applause from communist sympathizers and delegates from various regional countries.

However, outside the venue, the confrontation with young activists highlighted the growing anger among Cuban exiles toward those who continue to justify repression in Cuba.

The encounter ended without major incidents but marked another episode of tension between Castro supporters and Cuban exiles in Europe, where protests against regime representatives are becoming increasingly visible.
