Cuban reggaeton musician El Chulo, who is currently detained at the U.S. immigration facility known as Alligator Alcatraz, has spoken out to firmly deny any alleged connections with the notorious Latin Kings gang.
"I don't even know what that is (Latin Kings gang). All I've done in my life is make music," the artist stated during a phone interview with journalist Maylin Legañoa.
El Chulo, whose real name is Abel Díaz Rodríguez, further emphasized that he has never interacted with any member of the criminal organization. "Never in my life," he reiterated.
Despite his statements, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) persists with allegations suggesting a supposed association with the gang, labeling the reggaeton star as a "dangerous criminal" within the United States.
El Chulo maintains his innocence, noting that during his 2017 legal proceedings, he never encountered any gang members. He clarified that although he was detained for nearly a year, he was not transferred to a penitentiary.

"I think this is the worst experience I've ever gone through," he remarked.
The reggaeton artist was apprehended on January 22 and remains in ICE custody as he awaits a final decision regarding his immigration status or potential deportation.
