In an exclusive interview with The New York Post, former President Donald Trump revealed he will not be attending Super Bowl LX. He also took the opportunity to criticize the artists chosen for the event's entertainment, Bad Bunny and Green Day, labeling their inclusion as a "terrible decision" due to their promotion of what he perceives as hate.
"I'm not a fan of them. I think it's a terrible choice. All they do is spread hate. Terrible," Trump stated during the interview.
The Super Bowl is scheduled for February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, within the San Francisco Bay Area. Although Trump criticized the musical selection, he clarified that this is not the primary reason he plans to skip the game.
Last year, Trump attended the event in New Orleans featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he explained to the Post that this year's Super Bowl is "too far" for him and he might reconsider if it were closer.
Throughout previous games, he mentioned having a "great experience" and that he was well-received by attendees.
Entertainment Controversy
Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the NFL's decision to feature Bad Bunny and Green Day, viewing them as contrary to his persona and agenda. The Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny has publicly criticized Trump, even using a voice mimicking him in a song to deliver an apology message to immigrants and Latino communities.
Similarly, Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day's frontman, has shown support for "anti-deportation" protesters and has spoken out against the MAGA agenda.
The NFL announced that Bad Bunny will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show at Super Bowl LX, while Green Day is slated to perform during the event's opening segment alongside the halftime show led by the Puerto Rican artist.
Bad Bunny's Unique Performance
Interestingly, this marks the only concert Bad Bunny will perform in the United States in 2026, a decision that surprised his fans. In recent statements, Bad Bunny explained that he has been avoiding performances on U.S. soil due to concerns that ICE operations might target his shows for immigrant raids.
