A tragic incident unfolded in Miami on Saturday morning as a Toyota driver lost his life after rear-ending a flatbed truck at high speed.

As a result, the westbound lanes of the Dolphin Expressway had to be shut down, according to reports from Local 10.

The crash took place shortly before 8:20 a.m. near Northwest 57th Avenue, as stated by Lieutenant Alex Camacho, a spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Toyota driver, identified as a male, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver escaped without injury.

Currently, the westbound lanes of the Dolphin Expressway remain closed at Northwest 57th Avenue as the investigation continues.
