Cuban reggaeton artist Abel Díaz Rodríguez, popularly known as El Chulo, was apprehended by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on January 22.

Influencer Un Martí To Durako took to social media to share a screenshot from ICE's official website, which listed the musician as detained.

Journalist Mario J. Pentón later verified the incident, citing sources close to the artist who revealed that the arrest stemmed from an old deportation order that was still active.

At this time, no further information has been provided about the specifics of the arrest or El Chulo's current location.

El Chulo was previously detained by ICE in 2018 during an appointment at the Miami-Dade County immigration offices.

In recent months, two other Cuban artists, Leandro Medina ("El Insurrecto") and Leamsy Izquierdo ("La Figura"), have also been held in ICE custody.
