The brutal killing of an 84-year-old man in Quivicán, located in the province of Mayabeque, has deeply unsettled the local community amidst growing concerns over rising violence in Cuba.

"Last night, Onofre Amable Arrojo, affectionately known as 'Chito', was savagely beaten, gagged, and strangled in his own home on Palomo farm, situated along the road to Güiro Boñigal in the Quivicán municipality," reported Néstor Fernández, a Cuban from Quivicán currently residing in the United States, on Facebook.
