Johana Tablada Criticizes Marco Rubio After Trump's Message: "Coward and Liar"

Sunday, January 11, 2026 by Edward Lopez

Johana Tablada de la Torre, an official from Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, launched a fierce criticism against U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio following a message from former President Trump directed at the Cuban regime.

"Marco Rubio, the cowardly and deceitful long-distance bully, Secretary of State, national insecurity advisor, and head of USAID funds for intervention and misinformation operations, managed to get Trump to issue us his Sunday threat and ultimatum," Tablada declared, sharing screenshots of Trump's message.

Earlier, the ambassador to Mexico and deputy director for North America at MINREX had responded via Facebook to Trump's message with the regime's usual slogans.

"Upon reading the Sunday threat to Cuba from the head of the United States' cartel of thugs, it’s time to say: 'Patria o Muerte, Venceremos!'" she stated.

Tablada was responding to Trump's ultimatum issued to the Cuban regime on Sunday.

"Cuba survived for many years thanks to significant amounts of OIL and MONEY from Venezuela. In return, Cuba provided 'security services' to the last two Venezuelan dictators, BUT NO MORE!" Trump stated.

He continued: "Most of those Cubans DIED in last week's U.S. attack, and Venezuela no longer needs protection from the thugs and extortionists who held them hostage for so many years. Venezuela now has the United States of America, the most powerful military in the world (by far!), to protect it, and we will."

"THERE WILL BE NO MORE OIL OR MONEY FOR CUBA, NOTHING! I highly recommend you reach an agreement BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT," he concluded.
