The Cuban healthcare professionals have "returned to their duties after the U.S. assault on four Venezuelan regions," according to a report from the state-run news outlet on Tuesday.
As anticipated, several doctors expressed their disapproval of what they labeled as an "imperialist aggression" and reaffirmed their dedication to the Venezuelan people.
"We are fulfilling our duty, committed to serving the Venezuelan populace until the very end," one of the medical collaborators remarked.
Other members of the medical mission described Maduro's detention as an "unjust kidnapping" and emphasized that their presence in Venezuela is part of the "highest Fidelist principle of doctors, not bombs."
From Havana, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) confirmed that it maintains constant communication with the brigade in Venezuela through the Central Unit for Medical Cooperation.
"Our collaborators remain steadfast in an assaulted and shaken nation," a spokesperson from the organization stated, noting that special attention is being given to the states most affected by the military offensive.
The state channel reminded that over 165,000 Cuban healthcare professionals have worked in Venezuela since 2003, under the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and Venezuela, signed by Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez.
Over the past two decades, these so-called "armies in white coats" have provided medical care in rural communities, popular neighborhoods, and hard-to-reach areas, often in exchange for oil or lucrative contracts in foreign currencies controlled by the Cuban regime.
