On Tuesday, Miami police apprehended three individuals involved in a home invasion and assault against its residents in Little Havana.
According to a report by Local 10 News, the alleged criminals forcibly entered the property located on Southwest Eighth Street around 10 pm on Monday. They coerced one of the two victims—a man and a woman—into opening a safe containing approximately $400 in cash.
The police report identified the intruders as Agustín Hernández, 46, Rogelio Espina, 54, and Yoamil Nápoles, 50. Two of these suspects are homeless, while the third is unemployed.
Authorities found the suspects still inside the home when they arrived at the scene.
Officers stated that the suspects assaulted the male victim by striking him in the stomach upon breaking into the residence and then used zip ties to restrain both victims.
The woman involved expressed her terror over the violent incident and demanded that the perpetrators be sentenced to jail.
Renowned Judge Mindy Glazer has issued a no-contact order, prohibiting the suspects from any future interaction with the victims.
