A massive alligator was captured on Friday by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers after it was spotted wandering in the front yard of a home in the Westchester neighborhood of Miami-Dade County.
Armando Rodríguez, a Cuban resident of the area, told Local 10 News that his son noticed the reptile through security cameras and exclaimed that it was "really huge!"
Rodríguez promptly dialed 911 to report the unusual visitor.
FWC officers arrived at the scene and, after several attempts, successfully subdued the creature.
The alligator's snout was securely wrapped with tape in a U-shape to prevent any bites before it was removed from the neighborhood.
Authorities noted that the Westchester area is interlaced with various canals and water bodies, which makes it easier for alligators to venture into residential territories, particularly during hot or rainy seasons.
Fortunately, the incident did not result in any injuries, although the sight of such a large reptile so close to their homes gave neighbors quite a scare.
