The Spanish government has allocated €2.3 million towards the "digital transformation" of the Cuban regime.
The initiative, known as Cuba Digital, is currently open for bidding. It is funded by the European Union and managed through the Internationalization of Public Administrations (FIAP), as revealed by documents obtained by OK Diario.
Cuba Digital focuses on the "provision, delivery, and installation of servers and network equipment to enhance the technological infrastructure of the Electronic Government Platform spearheaded by the Cuban Public Administration."
The project also aims to "assist the Cuban state in developing capacities and infrastructure for digital governance."
Building a Future-Ready Data Center
A key component of the project is the "development of a robust electronic government platform," which necessitates the establishment of a state-of-the-art Data Center in Cuba.
This data center will be responsible for "digitizing government procedures and offering online services to both citizens and institutions."
Advancing Technological Independence
According to FIAP, the investment "promotes the sustainability and technological autonomy of the Cuban public administration, facilitating the deployment of national information systems and the delivery of digital services that meet international quality standards."
In essence, the administration of Pedro Sánchez is contributing to the creation of a "modern and reliable infrastructure to support the Electronic Government" of the Cuban regime.
Spanish companies interested in leading this project in Cuba have until February 17, 2026, to submit their proposals.
Last October, OK Diario also uncovered information revealing that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez had authorized the sale of 24 tons of "ammunition and projectiles" to the Cuban regime and 1.5 tons of "war weapons" to Morocco.
