The Cuban Communist Party (PCC) has issued a statement expressing its support for Nicolás Maduro's government in Venezuela, while strongly condemning what it describes as an "escalation of aggression" by the United States. This includes military deployment in the Caribbean, the seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker, and the announcement of a total blockade on oil shipments entering and leaving Venezuela.

In this declaration, the PCC labels the U.S. government as "fascist" and argues that the military maneuvers represent a "blatant violation" of International Law and the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. The statement suggests this is an attempt to "reinstate the Monroe Doctrine" in the region.

The PCC also dismisses what it calls Washington's "false accusations" linking Maduro and his administration—described as "constitutionally elected" by the PCC—to criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking.

Within the same context, the PCC points out the "assault and criminal seizure" of a Venezuelan oil vessel, the "total and complete blockade" of oil tankers, and the "arbitrary designation" of Venezuela as an "international terrorist organization." According to the document, these actions are orchestrated to justify "interventionist and domination interests."

Politically, the PCC reaffirmed its "unwavering support and solidarity" with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), its leadership, and membership, as well as with the "popular, military, and police unity" that it claims is led by Maduro.

Moreover, the Cuban ruling party called on "parties, social movements, and leftist and progressive political forces" to mobilize against the U.S. escalation and demand its cessation.

The statement concludes with a quote attributed to José Martí from July 1881, expressing commitment to Venezuela: "Give me Venezuela to serve her: she has in me a son."

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla also defended Nicolás Maduro's regime this Saturday after the United States designated the Venezuelan government as a foreign terrorist organization, a move that is part of Washington's new offensive against chavismo.

Through his account on X (formerly Twitter), Rodríguez described the State Department's designation as an "arbitrary, fraudulent, unilateral, and politically motivated act," accusing the U.S. administration of "manipulating terrorism as a political weapon."

"What moral authority does the U.S. government have for these designations, when it protects and funds terrorist organizations within its own territory, refuses to cooperate with neighboring countries like Cuba on terrorism, and openly discusses covert CIA actions and sabotage against Venezuelan infrastructure?" wrote the Cuban Foreign Minister.

Rodríguez's response came a day after President Donald Trump announced new sanctions targeting the family and associates of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores, whom Washington accuses of being part of a "narco-corruption structure that sustains the illegitimate Caracas regime."
