Sandro Castro Responds to Samantha Espineira: "You Should Pay Me for the Publicity"

Wednesday, December 17, 2025 by Olivia Torres

Sandro Castro, the grandson of Fidel Castro, stirred controversy once again this Tuesday by publicly addressing statements made by influencer Samantha Espineira. Earlier, Espineira had claimed she never had any connection with him and hinted at possible legal action for defamation.

In a series of Instagram stories, Sandro disparaged Espineira, accusing her of seeking fame by using his name. "Oh, vampires and vampirettes. I had to come to the office because things were getting serious. I clarified that I was responding in a heated moment. I don’t like talking about women or my private life, but if I show the chats, I don't know what label it will have," he said, referencing his family's dictatorship.

Known for his mocking and provocative tone on social media, Sandro claimed that she was the one "chasing after" him when she frequented his bar in Havana. "At what point was I interested in partying with you, when you were just hanging around my bar following me?" he added in a video.

With sarcasm, Castro ridiculed Espineira's statements, especially when she appeared with her lawyers in a video denying any romantic or professional ties with him: "You came out with two old ladies from that Miami syndicate. It’s the funniest thing, talking about defamation and all. If it's about defamation, they owe me ten Lamborghinis with all the gossip from over there. You've become more outdated."

Mockingly, the dictator's grandson told her, "My little girl, don’t feel bad, okay? First of all, you should be paying me right now for the promotion I’ve given you. You were more off the radar than the eastern provinces."

"Come on, girl, don't feel bad. That's in the past. Stop inflating things and admit the truth. Let's close this chapter because this isn’t a Turkish soap opera," he concluded.

Sandro's response came shortly after Samantha Espineira stated she wants "no connection with the Cuban dictatorship" and that Castro's insinuations are "completely false." In her video, the influencer hinted that she might consider legal actions against him.

The controversy has once again divided social media: while some followers support Samantha, others enjoy Sandro Castro's sarcastic tone, who calls himself "El Vampirash" and ended his statement with a message to his audience: "Go on, keep crying in Miami while I enjoy myself in Havana. The blackout has begun."
