The artistic community of Bayamo is in mourning after the loss of Ercili Bory Casate, affectionately known as "Cilita." A renowned art instructor, show director, and cultural promoter, her passing was confirmed on Wednesday by local media outlets.

As reported by Radio Ciudad Monumento, Bory was instrumental in promoting the cultural heritage of Granma. She was the visionary behind the dance project "Arcoiris en Movimiento" and the daughter of the well-remembered artist Roberto Bory.

Having graduated from the School of Art Instructors in 1989, Ercili dedicated over thirty years to the mentorship and artistic direction, impacting many lives through her work.

Her passing has sparked a wave of condolences and tributes across social media. Colleagues, authorities, and friends have shared fond memories and expressed admiration for her unwavering commitment to art and community projects.

According to CMKX Radio Bayamo, Yudelkis Ortiz Barceló, the first secretary of the Communist Party in Granma, stated, "Martí said, 'Death is not true when the work of life has been well fulfilled.' Under this premise, we bid you farewell today, dear Cilita, a talented artist, a beautiful woman, and a tireless worker."

Similarly, Granma's governor Yanetsy Terry Gutiérrez mourned her loss on Facebook, highlighting her career: "Your mastery, teaching, and virtuosity will forever be etched in Granma's culture. Thank you for your life dedicated to art and dance."

Those close to her have also shared heartfelt messages and memories. User Leya CF wrote, "My God, what sad news, how painful it is to learn that someone who was an icon of culture for years is no longer with us. Rest in peace, Cilita."

Yordan Roberto León Rodríguez conveyed his sympathies as well: "Eternal light to your soul. Condolences to family, friends, and colleagues in the artistic and cultural world."
