The leader of the well-known Cuban band Los 4, Jorge Junior, has stirred controversy on social media by posting a scathing message directed at Norlam, a former singer of the group who was part of the band for several years before embarking on a solo career.
In a social media post, Jorge Junior harshly reacted after allegedly coming across comments made by the former member about Los 4.
"While browsing my YouTube, I found this frustrated individual still talking about the group that transformed his life and got him out of the hole he was living in," the musician wrote.
Jorge Junior continued with a series of personal critiques aimed at Norlam, accusing him of "running away" from his familial and professional life:
"Listen, kid, you didn't leave Los 4, you ran away from your family, your real family, the ones who took you to the airport for your first tour with us and told you at the gate that you were no longer their son because of your attitude," Jorge Junior declared.
The singer of "El oro es mío" also questioned his former bandmate's current career, asserting that Norlam has failed to establish himself as a solo artist both on and off the island.
"You're not performing concerts in the United States, you don't have European tours because you're not appealing. In Cuba, you're irrelevant. You've chosen to remain in Lima as the lackey of someone whose weakness is young girls. And you're doomed to sing Los 4's arrangements forever, because honestly, you never thrived in this genre," he wrote.
The message, accompanied by several photos of Norlam, sparked hundreds of comments on social media, with many criticizing Jorge Junior's aggressive tone, while others supported his account of the band's breakup.
Norlam was one of the main voices of Los 4, a band founded by Jorge Junior known for blending reggaeton with popular dance music. After leaving the group, Norlam launched a solo career based in Lima, Peru.
As of now, Norlam has not publicly responded to his former bandmate's statements.
