The Cuban diplomat, Johana Tablada de la Torre, who serves as the Deputy Director General for the United States at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), launched a verbal attack on Monday against U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, labeling him as "ignorant" and a "show-off" in a fresh rhetorical offensive against Washington.

In a social media post, Tablada de la Torre accused Rubio of trying to "impose his personal agenda once again" and criticized his policies on Latin America as being based on "lies, reckless plans, and absurd ideas devoid of any guarantees of success."

The diplomat claimed that Rubio is pushing to reinstate policies of "maximum hostility" towards Cuba and Venezuela within the framework of Donald Trump's administration.

Accusations Against Rubio's Influence

"Pretending to be a Latin expert hasn't worked out well for him," Tablada de la Torre remarked, referring to Rubio's influence on Trump's first administration's policies regarding the region.

She asserted that these measures "significantly increased the flow of migrants" and mocked his support for Juan Guaidó, who declared himself interim president of Venezuela in 2019, as a "showy failure."

Criticism of U.S. Policies and Allies

Strongly connected to Miguel Díaz-Canel's inner circle, Tablada reiterated the Cuban regime's official narrative, blaming Washington for the regional migration crisis and defending political alliances with Caracas.

"It was a grand show to convince Trump and others that the Bolivarian high command was ready to betray," she wrote, recalling the false claim of "30,000 Cuban troops in Venezuela."

Tablada also questioned the involvement of former officials Elliott Abrams and Mauricio Claver-Carone, accusing them of "fabricating fake news" to justify aggressive actions in Latin America.

Concluding Remarks and Broader Implications

"When the foundation of a strategy is whimsical, weak, and deceitful, the likelihood of failure increases, not without causing human catastrophes," she added.

In a combative tone, the diplomat concluded by asserting that Rubio lacks the "common sense and knowledge" necessary to prevent an escalation of "incalculable consequences."

These statements align with the Cuban regime's usual tactics, employing spokespersons like Tablada de la Torre to attack critics of Cuban communism, especially Cuban-American politicians influencing U.S. policy towards Havana.
