"I spent $34,000 helping my niece, her two kids, and her husband because they were going to be killed in Mexico. I brought them to live in my house, then set them up in an efficiency apartment, even building an extra room for the kids," he explained.
Despite the substantial effort and financial outlay, the Cuban noted that his relatives never repaid what they had promised. "I told them to just give me $15,000 of what I spent to deposit in my wife's account. The rest was a gift from us to them. I still haven't seen a penny," he lamented.
