A train loaded with fuel collided with a tractor on Thursday in the province of Artemisa, Cuba. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, according to initial reports.

The train, which was en route from Havana to Pinar del Río, struck the tractor as it crossed the railway line at 40th Avenue in Artemisa's capital. This information was shared by journalist Yarima Córdova Escobar in a Facebook post.

The agricultural vehicle's driver ignored signals from the train operator, Gustavo Enmanuel, who works for Ferrocarriles Habana, as reported by the journalist.

Although no one was injured in the accident, both the tractor and the locomotive sustained material damages. Photos from the post suggest the tractor might have been towing a loaded trailer, though this detail remains unconfirmed.

The railway remains closed while authorities conduct an investigation into the incident.

Exactly one month ago, a similar accident occurred in the same province of Artemisa. At kilometer 1.5 of the railway branch, a train traveling from Artemisa to Havana collided with a truck that crossed the tracks at crossing number 4 without respecting established signals. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries, but both vehicles sustained material damage.

Additionally, in that western Cuban province, a rental car for tourists was hit by a train in August after crossing the tracks without stopping. Although the passengers suffered minor injuries, the vehicle was completely destroyed.

Railway crossing accidents have been a recurring issue in Cuba in recent years, raising concerns about inadequate signaling and the reckless behavior of some drivers, which endangers travelers' lives.

Due to the frequent occurrence of such accidents, railway authorities have emphasized the importance of adhering to warning signals and speed limits at crossings, especially in areas where signaling is manual or insufficient.
