The Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) Tank Division shared on Facebook, "With heavy hearts, we honor the memory of young officer Reinier Toledo Cabrales, who at 29, succumbed to cardiac arrest while at home after a courageous battle."
Originally from Bartolomé Masó in Granma province, Toledo died as a "result of severe injuries sustained in a traffic accident several months ago, during which he remained in a coma."
The official page posted images from the "military farewell ceremony" where "fellow soldiers, friends, and family paid their final respects."
"His burial was marked by three AKM rifle volleys, a heartfelt farewell to a comrade who left us too soon. May he rest in peace. His values, dedication, and sacrifice will be forever remembered," the regime's military post concluded.
Back in August, the same page reported the death of another FAR officer after spending several days hospitalized following a traffic accident in Santiago de Cuba.
Major Yorlai Tito Rengifo, stationed with the Tank Division, was injured in an unspecified date traffic accident. He received medical care at the Naval Hospital, where he later died.
