Another Cuban injured during the explosion at the traditional Guayos festival in Sancti Spíritus province has been released from the hospital and is on the path to recovery, according to local activist Javier Carta via social media.

The individual, José Carlo Falcó, a carpenter from the town of Camujuaní, sustained burns in the incident that shook the community celebrations several weeks ago.

"He's been discharged and is getting better! Great news, bro. Everyone in Camajuaní was worried about his health," Carta shared on his Facebook page.

The post also expressed gratitude for the support from family, neighbors, and community members, both within and outside of Cuba, who sent medications, creams, and financial assistance to the injured.

"A big thank you to his girlfriend, father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Wilder, the president of La Loma neighborhood, Inay, Ana Dilen, and all the Lomeros abroad who helped with medicines and creams for all the injured. Thanks and speedy recovery," he added.

During the recent festival, two mortar explosions occurred, injuring a total of nine people.

Two of the injured were reported in critical condition by medical personnel; one of them succumbed to their injuries, while the other remains in a life-threatening state. Three others were seriously hurt, and the rest sustained minor or less severe injuries.

The deceased was identified as Arniel Díaz Pacheco, who suffered severe burns that ultimately claimed his life.

The injured individuals were transported to hospitals in Sancti Spíritus and Santa Clara, where they received specialized medical care.

Since the incident, locals, family members, and expatriates from Sancti Spíritus have organized solidarity campaigns to supply medications, bandages, and ointments that are in short supply in the country's healthcare facilities.

The case of José Carlo Falcó has sparked a wave of support on social media, especially from expatriate communities in the United States and Spain, who have contributed medical supplies and direct donations.

At least three of the more severely injured individuals remain under medical observation.
