A young Cuban has taken TikTok by storm after trying to order food at a McDonald's in the United States with his distinctive Havana accent, causing a humorous mix-up with the drive-thru employee.
In a video shared by user @juan.rodriguez7907, the Cuban man approaches the drive-thru microphone and casually greets, "What's up? How's the play going here?"
The employee, who spoke Spanish but with a different accent, replied puzzled, "What play?"
Not missing a beat, the man continued with his Cuban flair: "Let me see if I can get some chicken pieces, with some sauces, you know, to taste how the seasoning is, you know."
However, the woman, completely confused, responded again, "Who's playing? I just don't understand what you want."
The exchange has sparked laughter among thousands of viewers, especially within the Cuban community abroad, who have found the scenario relatable.
Many joked in the comments that "not even Google Translate can handle Cuban slang," while others quipped that "you need subtitles at McDonald's."
The video, titled "Speaking Cuban and she doesn't get it," has amassed thousands of views and comments on TikTok, where Juan Rodríguez shares everyday anecdotes from the lives of Cubans in exile.
