Attorney in Florida Offers Apology to Emilio and Gloria Estefan Following Baseless Allegations

Monday, November 24, 2025 by Samantha Mendoza

Travis Walker, the attorney representing West Palm Beach resident Joseph Manzaro, has issued a public apology to Emilio and Gloria Estefan after a U.S. court dismissed the lawsuit against them and penalized Walker for presenting allegations deemed "groundless" and "beyond implausible."

In a video shared by Emilio Estefan on Instagram, Walker acknowledged that he should never have brought the case to court, admitting that his actions caused undue harm to the reputation of the Cuban-American couple.

"As you know, the lawsuit has been dismissed, and the court sanctioned my conduct by declaring that my claims lacked foundation," Walker stated at the beginning of the video.

He continued, "This outcome reflects what I should have realized from the start: the allegations were unfounded, and I should never have made them. I deeply regret my decision..."

Walker, who has offices on Florida's Treasure Coast, publicly accepted that the sanctions imposed by the judge were "appropriate" and took full responsibility for his "misconduct."

"I want you to know that I am sincerely sorry for what I did. There is no excuse for it. I assure you that nothing like this will happen again," he added.

Walker's apology adds to the legal episode that had generated indignation and surprise within the Estefan family. Manzaro had claimed that, ten years ago, he was transported from a party at Sean "Diddy" Combs' mansion to a residence then owned by the Estefans via a supposed "secret tunnel."

In August, the U.S. Court labeled the case as "frivolous," noting that the existence of such a tunnel was technically impossible due to the artificial nature of Star Island, which is built on dredged land. The ruling stated that significant excavation would lead to water.

Moreover, the court determined that none of the allegations directly implicated Emilio Estefan in the supposed events and debunked other claims by the plaintiff, including the presence of celebrities who, according to public records, were not even in Miami that day.

Emilio Estefan: "We Can't Believe Everything We Read" Alongside the video, the music producer shared a message reflecting on how misinformation can easily spread on social media.

"This video reminds us that we can't believe everything we read or hear. In these times of the internet and social media, news spreads rapidly and is often untrue," he wrote. "It's our responsibility to stand for the truth and demand it. It's truly a shame!"

The Estefan family previously announced that they will pursue legal action to seek compensation for the damage done to their reputation.

With this public apology, the case seems to be reaching a conclusion, although it leaves a mark on how a baseless accusation can escalate to the courts and impact the personal and professional lives of individuals widely respected by the Cuban community both within and beyond the United States.
